What You Should Expect at Your First PT Appointment?
Please arrive 15-20 minutes early for this appointment so that your paperwork can be reviewed prior to your first meeting with the therapist. You should remember to get a prescription from your doctor for physical therapy treatments and bring along any x-rays you have. Bring your insurance cards and your driver's license.
Be prepared to undergo a completed physical examination on your first visit. It may take between 45-60 minutes for the entire visit. Ideally, you should come wearing athletic and comfortable clothing. You should be able to expose the area that is going to be treated.
Does Your Health Insurance Cover Physical Therapy?
The Center for Physical Health is on some insurance plans and in the process of applying to many more. We will be happy to discuss our prices and costs with you. If you intend to use your insurance, call the number on the back of your card and verify your deductible and co-insurance before your first visit. Absent financial hardship, you will be required to pay these amounts. It is against the law to waive fees or to discount these amounts. Federal agencies may fine both the therapist and you for breaking the law.
Financial Hardship and Payment Programs are available to make your therapy affordable. These are programs exist to help with the cost of your care. Please notify our office to discuss these options on your first visit. If you have any further questions about whether your health insurance covers the costs of your treatments, we'd be happy to assist you - just call at 330-286-3850 or come into our clinic.
